Creativity, Innovation & Research (CIRC) – Kindergarten to Grade 4

At Ehrman Crest Elementary, every student in kindergarten through fourth grade participates in a 35‑minute CIRC (Creativity, Innovation & Research) class once every five school days. In addition, the CIRC classroom and its technology-rich resources are available for class‑wide enrichment.

Within CIRC and across all classrooms, we teach that technology is not just another subject, it is a powerful tool for finding, analyzing, and using information. Seneca Valley School District’s instructional technology philosophy states that we strive “to use technology to the full extent of its capabilities throughout the curriculum”

Key Highlights

  • Weekly foundational sessions: Each grade receives a structured time block to explore and invent.

  • Flexible access beyond scheduled time: Students can return—or get extra support—for additional technology‑based work.

  • Purposeful integration: Tech is embedded into learning, not used for its own sake.

  • Aligned with district ideology: The practice reflects SVSD’s goal of fully leveraging classroom technology for creativity and innovation.
