PBIS
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate.
What are Schoolwide Expectations?
The Center on PBIS says schoolwide expectations represent the social, emotional, and behavioral skills we want to see from everyone in the building. Rather than focusing on what NOT to do, these expectations establish how TO do school in every classroom, cafeteria, and common space. Our schoolwide expectations reflect what we value as a community and set the stage for creating a positive school culture.
